1) Altered programming

In-Person Workshops

Crowsnest has cut public workshops from our offerings for now and we will continue to take direction from British Columbia’s Ministry of Health. All programs will take place outdoors during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Private group workshops, organized by groups of two or more people who are in each other’s “Covid bubble” are available. One-on-one customized in-person hide tanning consultations are still available.

Online Offerings

In addition, Crowsnest has created online programming to reach our community in this important moment. Virtual hide tanning consultations are available at any time and seasonal workshops are posted in the shop and announced on Facebook and Instagram. Join our Mailing List to hear about new workshops as they are posted.

2) Covid protocol for In-Person Education

Screening

We screen each participant with the following questions:

  1. Are you feeling sick? Examples include a new cough, headache, weakness, fever, difficulty breathing, etc.
  2. Have you travelled outside Canada in the past 14 days?
  3. Have you come into close contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 or someone who is sick with a fever/cough in the past 14 days?

We ask that everyone who has mild symptoms of sickness, who has travelled outside of Canada in a 14-day period prior, or who has been in contact with someone with Covid-19 symptoms refrain from attending a private workshop.

Covid-Aware Gear

At each in-person private workshop, participants are expected to bring a mask and to wear this mask whenever we need to break the 6-ft distance recommendation. Instructors will be wearing masks for the duration of the workshop.

We have reconfigured our hide tanning equipment so that participants are spaced six feet apart while working. We encourage people to be mindful of maintaining the 6-ft recommended distance, even though

Hygiene

Crowsnest instructors and participants must regularly wash their hands with soap and water thoroughly for at least 20 seconds. When soap and water is unavailable at our remote locations and when water is shut off in the winter, hands must be sanitized with an alcohol-based hand rub with 60% alcohol.

Shared bathrooms will be sanitized by Crowsnest instructors 30 minutes prior to the start time of each workshop. Each bathroom user must use the available hand sanitizer spray to wipe down bathroom surfaces after use.

The sharing of food at our workshops, including catering and potlucks, is suspended for the duration of the pandemic.

Refunds

We are suspending our 7-day no-refunds policy in the event of cancellation due to Covid-19 symptoms.
