Limina series: Jute and Yarn Basketry at Home, August 8, 2020

Create your own useful small basket, using Jute twine and yarn. In this live interactive video, you will weave a basket to be a cozy for a pint-sized mason jar.

You don’t need any experience, just a curiosity to make your own functional craft.  You will learn how to use materials you have in the kitchen cupboard or garden, including plant fibres you can forage.  You will also be shown how to scale the the basket for bigger projects of your own.

Date & time: Saturday, August 8, 10am-12pm PDT.

Czarina will lead people through the process from her own home to yours.  You may collect your baskets materials or mail-order a Basket Kit ($15) from CZarina in advance.

To order a Basket Kit, purchase your spot in the class and then email czarinal@yahoo.com.  You will be sent an email reminder upon registration.  Note: the deadline for ordering a kit is June 25.

This session will be recorded for all participants, including those who cannot make it live.

Description

This live video offering is part of the Limina Virtual Workshop series, an online connection of ancestral skills. Born from Crowsnest Wildcraft’s annual Limina Gathering, which was postponed from 2020 to 2021 to respond to COVID-19, we are taking our offerings online over the course of several months. Individuals may register for one or as many workshops as you like. Proceeds go directly to the facilitator and to Limina Gathering.

To register: purchase your spot on a sliding scale by choosing your price. That’s it!

You will receive first a confirmation email and later a follow-up email from the facilitator prior to the workshop.

Any questions can be directed to liminagathering@gmail.com.

Interpreting a sliding scale:
$45-50: If you are able to pay for “wants” and spend little time worried about securing necessities in your life, this price is for you.

$35-45: If you are struggling to conquer debt or build savings or move away from paycheck to paycheck living but have access to steady income and are not spending most of your time thinking about meeting basic needs such as food, shelter, medical care, child care, etc., you belong here.

$30-35: If you struggle to maintain access to needs such as health care, housing, food, child care, and are living paycheck to paycheck or are in significant debt, you belong here and you deserve a community that honours your price as equal an economic offering as the person who can pay the highest tier.
