Rawhide is more than it seems. This stiff, preserved hide has been through some stages of the tanning process but is caught between worlds, ready to be tanned in any method or left on its own to make containers or drums.
In this workshop we will cover the step-by-step process of making grain-on and grain-off rawhide and learn tricks and tips to create the highest quality finish. Each participant will receive their own soaked hide to begin racking up and will walk away with their own rawhide scroll for future project. This class is 1-2 days, depending on the season.
